Salamanders Young Burn Survivors is proud to have received these compliments
Amanda told me about your website, I didn't think it was going to be as
good and informative as it is, I think it's fab, has really made me think
about fire and how dangerous it is, and how it's not worth to play with
it. Very good website, I'm so glad I read it, I've learnt alot from it.
Kids could learn so much if they just read it. WELL DONE.
~ Vicky [Vicky was a teenaged friend of Quinn's
sister Amanda.]
Thank you for making this website. Thank you for sharing your story.
Quinn: Despite your injuries, you have grown into a very handsome young
man.I hope you do not mind me sharing your story with my three young boys.
I want them to know that there are consequences for playing with fire. Not
everyone is as lucky as you are.
~ Kara
I'm a mom of a burn suvivor and I think this site is good for her. She
is a wonderful well minded 12 yr old that was burned when she was 5 yrs of
age.
~ Dusty
Relieved to have found you. A very helpful website.
~ Marika
Great site for victims of burns ... awesome job you do here, and a great
service you provide for victims .. thank you
~ Charmaine
What a wonderful site you have created! I'm only sorry that you and your
son had to go through such a horrendous experience in order for it to be
created.
~ Carla
Since the beginning of time, mankind has been fascinated by Fire and its
Dancing Flames... However, how easily we forget the devastating and
destructive powers this beautiful "entity" still has. Powers we,
unfortunately, mostly discover when it's too late, when a toll has been
paid. Your site manages to make us all aware of this in an easy and
user-friendly way.
~ Tony Duthoo
I had a look at your website; what a wonderfully inspirational place. I
am really blown away by your site; the sentiment and intent with which it
is created is truly beautiful. I will certainly keep your page in mind and
share it with any one who it may be relevant to in future.
~ Brian
I was literally moved to tears reading about your amazing son!! What an
inspiration he is, and a truely remarkable young man. Thru all the reading
(and I read it all) he never complained once....I think he should write a
book about his expierence for other young children.
~ Kaylynn
IMO, your website and salamander website are the best, most
surfer-friendly, most organized, and most resourceful for burn survivors.

Our esteemed guest panel of judges have reviewed, evaluated and have
chosen Salamanders Young Burn Survivors as the first recipient of Casey's
Celtic Charm Awards Site Of The Year - Colby's Choice 2006. We are
extremely proud to announce and award this deserving site with our SOTY
award.
It is without question an awesome resource for anyone that might be
struggling with the terrible pain of a burn. Designer and parent Sylvia
presents a smart and attractive design with clean and sensible navigation.
The graphics complimented the text quite well with a flair for
illustrating the site with animations and icons for young people while not
being distracting for resource seekers.
More importantly Salamanders Young Burn Survivors is a must read for any
parent with children of Quinn's age. In his own words: "if I can stop
even one other kid from going through what happened to me, there will have
been some point to it all." I applaud the courage of this family in
the face of such a shock and admire their conviction to reach out and help
transform burn victims to burn survivors. Well done.
The content with this site is as educative as it is moving. The site
clearly highlights the dangers that can lead to burns and the consequences
of those risks being realised. I felt honoured to share in the lives of
those survivors who allowed their stories to be told. This site is
deserving of the SOTY award for 2006.
Congratulations and thank-you for giving us the opportunity to review
your work, the visit was most inspiring. Your effort and dedication shine
throughout your pages. You truly deserve of our highest accolades, and for
making the World Wide Web a much better and nicer place for us all to
visit.
