Katie Piper (The Katie Piper Foundation):

Katie Piper is a best-selling international author, inspirational speaker, TV presenter and charity campaigner. She is also a young woman who has rebuilt her life after surviving a brutal attack in March 2008 at the age of 24, in which she had sulphuric acid thrown in her face. The Katie Piper Foundation helps people with burns and scars to reconnect with their lives and their communities.

Kelly Falardeau:

Kelly Falardeau is a burn survivor. Since the age of two she has struggled with her self-worth and confidence after receiving burns to 75% of her body. Kelly found a way to go from near-death to success; from the ugly scar-faced girl to a Top 10 Most Powerful and Influential Speaker, and 3 times Best-Selling Author.

Laura Crawford (My Long Hard Battle):

"It has been 32 yrs. now since I have been burned. I started writing this way back then. Although it has been a long journey, it is one now, that I would not undo if given the choice. For anyone else out there that is a Burn Survivor, remember, there is always hope, the pain does go away, and you are a beautiful person."

Michael Appleman (Burn Survivors Throughout The World):

Michael "was burned by a cigarette that .... put me and my car on fire. I got 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th degree burns." Founded by Michael in 2001, BSTTW offers support, education, and much more for burn survivors, medical professionals, care-givers, and the public at large.

Michael T Mathis (Burned Children Recovery Foundation):

In 1967, at 11 years old, Michael was horribly burned over 64% of his body after a gas can exploded. The Burned Children Recovery Foundation was founded in 1989 to provide emotional and financial assistance to the families struggling during their child's recovery from burn injuries.

Polly Brooks (Dans Fund for Burns):

Polly suffered 43% burns in the 2002 Bali bombing, which killed her husband of five weeks, her bridesmaid, and seven other friends. Dan's Fund for Burns, set up the following year in memory of Dan, her late husband, provides burn survivors in the UK with ongoing support, resources and practical assistance.

Rebecca Rhyne (Becca's Playground):

"My real name is Rebecca, but PLEASE call me Becca. I have many interests, including reading and playing cards and scrabble. I am also a burn survivor. On June 30, 2000, I was burned 2nd and 3rd degree as a result of a grease fire. It has taken its toll and I am rebuilding my life."

Ron Gladkowski (Terrariums):

Ron Gladkowski has been creating in stained and leaded glass since 1969, and began making terrariums in 1974. He suffered a setback in 1979 when he was seriously burned over 85% of his body in a house fire. Just 15 months later, he picked up where he left off and was once again exhibiting at art festivals.

Tony Yarijanian (Survivor's Hope):

"In 2004, I was in an explosion accident. I had 3rd degree burns over 90% of my body. Doctors gave me 1% chance of survival. My goal is to raise public awareness for burn survivors and survivors in general to let the world know that we are not victims but we are Survivors."
